The Pilates Method

Pilates is a form of exercise which co-ordinates the working of the muscles, with the breathing; it tones the whole body and improves the posture. Pilates follows a carefully developed method perfected over a period of nearly 100 years of experience and observation, since being invented by Joseph Pilates in the early 1920's. The crucial feature of Pilates, in comparison with some other techniques, is that it focuses on how you perform an exercise and carry yourself in daily life.

These use a range of specialised resistance equipment. An introductory course includes a full postural assessment and personal programme tailored towards your needs.

Classes are generally taught in courses of six sessions during school term time only. Courses need to be booked separately.
